Lifelong Catholic Faith Formation
Our registration fee will not increase this year
Dear Parents,
As we prepare for a new year, the safety of every person, especially our children, remains our highest priority. National, State, and Diocesan guidelines regarding the assembly of groups of people (including children) will always be given great consideration in the preparation of our Lifelong Faith Formation.
We are entering into our fourth year of FAMILY FAITH FORMATION. This model addresses many needs. Parents and teachers continue to express their appreciation for a process that builds up church community; gathers parents, children, and teachers together while receiving the support from the Faith Formation Team. Many parents expressed how much they learned and how it is deepening their own understanding of their faith. Over the last two years our program was given totally virtual. Although it met the needs of a world pandemic, we were missing a big part of church community; families gathering together, supporting one another and sharing ideas. In September of this year, we are happy to report that our classes will take place at the church. We will zoom classes only during inclement weather.
Learning about God is a process which never ends and it involves a continual turning toward to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It was Jesus Himself who wished that the Christian journey towards God not be a solitary one but one that brings people together … building a community of faith … becoming a Church. Faith begins in the home “The Domestic Church” and extends into our parish community regularly gathering at Sunday worship. The mission of our entire Lifelong Catholic Faith Formation programs is to create disciples for Jesus Christ. Our parish staff is committed to partner with parents (who are the most necessary participants) to assist them to keep the promises they made when they asked for Baptism for their children.

NEW FAMILY FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM
Catholic children with disabilities throughout our community are in need of a program to assist parents with navigating through the Catholic Faith. There are some unique challenges that come from parenting a child with special needs so I wanted to introduce a new program we will be rolling out next year. It is called “Accepting the Gift”. It is a home learning program for children with disabilities. I have arranged the material into a 7-year program with lessons monthly during the school year. There are no tests that need to be completed and there is no specific age group. I have arranged the lessons into beginner understanding lessons first, while they progressively increase in understanding as the years move forward. The lessons are short with a lot of fun activities for the parents and child. Again, this is a home base program that is designed to empower each family in their mission as parents and caregivers through Christ.
If you know anyone that may benefit from this program or are interested in learning more, please feel free to reach out to Abby. This program has also been placed on the registration forms as well.
"All persons with disabilities have gifts to contribute to the whole Church. When persons with disabilities are embraced and welcomed, and invited to participate fully in all aspects of parish community life, the Body of Christ is more complete. “The Church owes persons with disabilities her best efforts in order to ensure that they are able to hear the Gospel of Christ, receive the sacraments, and grow in their faith in the fullest and richest manner possible." - USCCB
